Goal: discover existing gender experts within the university and facilitate their collaboration in order to promote synergies between existing initiatives on gender equality.
The internal audit evidenced the presence of several competences and expertise on gender-related dimensions within our university. However, being gender equality a multi-disciplinary and transversal topic crossing different academic fields (e.g., psychology, education, economy, communication, 'jurisprudence, ...), the effect is often a fragmentation and a difficult collaboration among different research groups of gender experts. A possible solution may be to carry out an internal recognition to identify all the expertise and the existing initiatives towards gender equality and try to promote the collaboration among them. Existing dedicated committees (e.g., the Unified Committee of Guarantees - CUG - of Italian Universities) should be responsible for this process. This solution may be helpful also in terms of a better communication: to collect all the initiatives and events in the official Web site or social channel of the university (or of the dedicated committee) is likely to give more visibility to these actions.
